"Work/Life Balance"
Alicia Anderson
In 2008, a corporate downsizing was the impetus for serious introspection for Alicia. Facing the 2nd cut in two years, she asked herself if she really wanted to remain in such a volatile environment. In addition to dodging the hatchet, she was dealing with her own personal struggle - trying to maintain superwoman status in corporate America and at home. After weeks of consideration she decided to take a severance package and leave her Fortune 100 employer in pursuit of her dream.
With three children, an ambitious Harvard trained husband, a degree in Industrial Engineering and an MIT Sloan MBA she exited the predominantly male operations department of a large telecommunications company to launch Attaché Services. She has compassion for professional women who long to have a family and career but don’t know how to manage it - either they choose to devote their child-bearing years to their career, only to realize too late that they missed out on motherhood or they choose to abandon their career to care for their families, only to realize that returning to the workforce would not be so easy. She and her staff identify areas of improvement in a woman’s professional and personal life and offer solutions to simplify their often times complex and overwhelming lives, allowing them to spend time doing the things that align with their values and priorities.
Alicia Anderson, founder and CEO of Attaché Services (www.attacheservices.com), resides in Reston, VA with her husband and children.
