Do You Love Your Work?

Here’s a question we ask ourselves from time to time…

Do I really love what I’m doing…do I even like my chosen path?

The keyword here is choice. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, corporate career mom or a mom in transition, the work path you’re on may most likely be the result of choices made early on.

If you’re feeling stuck in your work or would rather be doing something you love, the good news is you don’t have to stay that way.

To begin the process of getting “unstuck,” begin by asking: What are my strengths? What do I enjoy doing?

You want to think in terms of how this is really going to alter your reality. These two questions are the seeds of an approach that will help you examine and change your work path each and every day.

Increase your choices.

I’m going to give you a mini lesson in you how you can start to explore your peak experiences and increase your choices. Peak experiences are moments when you’re at your very best and enjoy what you’re doing.

According to renowned psychologist Abraham Maslow, peak experiences make us feel as if we have a sense of purpose. As you become aware of these feelings, you’ll be able to recognize opportunities and make better choices with your career or business because you’ll gain more clarity with what you want.

Four Ways To Recognize Your Peak Experiences:

1. What you’re doing feels effortless and enjoyable.
2. You feel no stress.
3. You’re fully absorbed in the activity and time passes quickly.
4. You feel great clarity with what you’re involved in.

Peak moments can be as simple as appreciating a sunset, which could relate to a career or business involving time spent outdoors. They may also be time spent with certain people leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Pay attention to their personalities and what you happen to learn from them. This may have implications for a new business or career path.

As you become aware of your peak experiences, the clearer your path will become to building your work and life around them.
