Making the most of your image in style with Anna Valladares
How you dress does matter…a lot
No matter who you are or what you do, the way you dress and present yourself has a major impact on your life.
We live in a visual society where we are judged based on the image we portray. As soon as you enter a room you have formed an impression on others. The way you walk, the way you carry yourself, the way you dress, your smile, grooming and even your attitude toward others all contribute to the image you portray.
The goal is to match who you are on the inside to your outside to create a style that is uniquely your own.
Style is subjective and always evolving. For this reason, you have to decide what style works for you.
Begin by asking yourself a few questions:
• What do you feel comfortable in?
• What suits you and your body type, and is it age-appropriate?
• What are your priorities: Comfort? Work? Family obligations?
You can begin to answer these questions by looking at people who are of a similar body type and age whose style you admire.
Your image is also influenced by your job, personal taste and lifestyle. Tear out pictures in catalogues and magazines of clothing and accessories that you like and see if they would work for you, and eventually you will begin to see your own personal style immerge. Your style (like the latest trends) will change over time as your life and interests change.
Creating the image you want begins with knowing who you are and what impression you want to make on others. You cannot fake who you are or create an image that is not authentic, this would not last long and it will not give you the confidence in yourself and your appearance that you need to have.
You can influence the impression you make on others by creating an image that works for you; it is entirely within your control.
