Following the example of the first lady

Take a page out of Michelle Obama's style book and highlight your best features instead of obsessing over the worst. The First Lady emphasizes her enviable, toned arms in sleeveless sheaths and draws attention to her narrow waistline with wide belts. She has quickly become a fashion icon around the world with her fabulous personal style. Her style is simple yet comfortable. She is trendy, classic and conservative all rolled into one. This makes her an excellent example for stylish working moms.

While we all know she has access to a lot help in the fashion department, she is still a great example for us to follow. She knows what her best assets are and she emphasizes them. A sleeveless sheath dress can play up height and toned arms as well as play down a problem mid section (a problem area for most moms).

She uses statement jewelry to make an outfit. By adding an oversized necklace to a classic evening ensemble she gives it a look that is all her own. Fastening a costume brooch to a favorite cardigan adds a touch personality. Remember to avoid a fashion exclamation by sticking with one statement piece per outfit. Bright colors are another tool she uses to brighten up an otherwise boring look. The first lady’s style is one that most women can emulate. She keeps it simple, comfortable and classic and adds little touches of her own personality. Clean lines and simple cuts look good on most body types. Add your own personal style with a great pair of heels or fabulous earrings or another favorite accessory. If you focus on your best feature, everyone else will too. Recognize what your best assets are and play them up! Find your favorite accessories and use them to help your personality shine through!
