The Economy
So the world doesn’t seem so stable right now and you need a bailout yourself? I understand, a solo budget paying for a mortgage when jobs aren’t safe is scary. Most everyone feels a little anxious about the economy.
Here are some suggestions and ideas of how to make it through these uneasy times.
- Don’t let being scared make you paralyzed to where you can’t do anything. If all you are doing is worrying then you can’t get anything done or make the best out of a rough situation. Remember, you are a single mom! You are a warrior and have made it through lots of hard times, have faith in yourself.
- Employed but not for certain if your job is stable? Get your resume together so that in the case that you lose your job you are ten steps ahead of the competition and ready to go. It won’t hurt to be prepared, but keep it hush hush at the office.
- Unemployed and looking for a job? Job boards like www.indeed.com take most all the large job search engines (monster, careerbuilder, etc.) and put them on ONE site. This saves you time so you aren’t going to different sites and looking up the same thing over and over again. Sign up for job alerts with job boards so you will be alerted when jobs that fit your credentials become available.
- Your job is stable, but you feel the need to save more? Cut easy costs by looking at your telephone and cable bills. Are you signed up for features you don’t use or need? Start using coupons and save easy money at the grocery. Look to see if your city offers any type of “cheap city notifications.” I signed up for Atlanta on the cheap and I have been alerted to things I would have never known about!
- Coupons that aren’t fake!
